NEW MOON IN TAURUS
Where are your ducks? If they’re running hither, thither and yon; round them up and get them marching in orderly fashion. Our night luminary, the Moon has completed one full orbit of Earth and is passing between us and the Sun. The Sun, Moon and Earth are lining up in a straight line. It’s a New Moon in Taurus. Today is the first day of the 29.5-day Lunar Month.

Taurus is the first of four Fixed Sign. The other 3 are Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. The all mark the height of each season i.e. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, respectively.

The Northern Hemisphere is entered the heart of the Spring season. Buds are burgeoning, bees are buzzing, birds are building their nests and Cherry Blossoms are spreading joy. Love and sensuality is all around. Forget your problems and feel the Zen.

Look south after sunset and locate Jupiter/Zeus and the star, Spica. Jupiter is so bright you might mistake him for a UFO coming in for landing. Spica, the alpha star of the constellation Virgo, is beneath Jupiter. Spica is not as bright, but clearly visible. There is an abundance of positive energy beaming down from this area the sky. SATURN AND THE GALACTIC CENTER
Saturn, know as Cronos in ancient Greece, is hovering around the Galactic Center at around 26 degrees Sagittarius. His retrograde cycle in 2017 is placing him right atop this highly energetic area of the heavens. He crossed over it in February. He’ll return to cross over it again in May and then for a last time in November, before he moves off and away.

The GC was considered the entrance to the Underworld by the Mayans. Scientist have discovered that the GC peers into a black hole (colloquially call Sagittarius A*) that exists at the core of our Milky Way Galaxy. The Mayans understood the spiritual significance. Scientist see only matter.

Saturn rules matter, the time-space continuum and modern science. It’s interesting that Saturn is in the news now with the Cassini spacecraft sending data back to Earth after diving in between Saturn’s rings and cloudtops. Some raw, unprocessed shots are being posted by the Cassini imaging team.

No spacecraft has ever been this close to Saturn. The Cassini probe is due to run out of fuel and dump itself into the atmosphere of Saturn.

The planets in our solar system, represent autonomous unconscious energies that rule our human experience. Saturn is exerting a strong influence on us in 2017.

If the skies are clear this evening, a sight of great beauty will be visible after sunset. The slender gondola-shaped lunar crescent will be sailing along the western horizon. It’s been visible for a couple of days.

Over the next few evenings, the gondola will grow into the First Quarter Phase (Half Moon) on Wednesday.

These early days of the young Crescent Moon is a highly inspiring time. We are living in dramatic times, but despite all the trouble in the news, there are certain very auspicious astrological factors working fervently in your favour.

The 3-week Mercury retrograde is down to the last few days. It ends this Tues. The Mercury ship is preparing to set sail for another journey around the far side of the Sun. If you have a fear of Mercury retrogrades, think again. Mercury/Hermes is your strategy guy. He’s your personal agent. He points out problems and advises you how to beat them and win your game. These last few days will bring the usual glitches in communications, technology, travel and transportation. Do you best to keep ahead of the game. Think lucky and Hermes will help you out.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS NEWS – BASEBALL
The 3-week Mercury retrograde periods have been tough for the Blue Jays over the past year. Other teams, however, have thrived during this tricky cycle. The Orioles and Yankees have been smoking in recent weeks. One team’s poison is another team’s sweetener.

I wrote about this last August and September 2016. The Jays were doing very well until the Mercury retrograde started in late August. They slipped down from a high position in the standings and nearly fell out of playoff position. Boston, meanwhile, thrived and shot up past the Blue Jays during the retrograde and secured a playoff spot. The Red Sox’s Big Papi, David Ortiz, was the big clutch-hitting hero.

The Mercury retrograde ended on Sept 22 just in time for the Jays to start winning again and hang on to the wild card spot and knock out the Baltimore Orioles and then the Texas Rangers. Boston’s run in the playoffs fizzled out. Ortiz lost his magic touch.

The Mercury retrograde in April 2017 started about 18 days before it started in 2106, so the slump hit them earlier. With the retrograde coming to an end in 2 days, they are showing signs of getting back to true form. If the pattern continues, we can expect them to rapidly get back to their winning ways in May when they will start digging their way out of the hole and get back into contention.

Not all opportunities are obvious. In fact, they usually aren’t. They often arrive under the guise of bad news. The trick is not to succumb to gloom when difficult events strike. No negativity allowed. If you think that no opportunity exists, think again. It’s there and waiting to be discovered. It’s all up to you. It is imperative to stay motivated, passionate and determined. The trouble you are currently dealing with will prove to be your ticket to success. It is motivating you to achieve your big dream.

MERCURY/HERMES RETURNS TO DIRECT MOTION
Mercury comes to a full stop and resumes forward motion. Watch out for delays, glitches and hold ups. A few stories that bear this out have come up in the news:

Gas was shut off at the site of a major leak at a downtown Ottawa, Canada, intersection that forced the evacuation of building and the closure of major roads for several blocks on Tuesday afternoon.

A series of blasts in Toronto’s financial district shut down the area on Monday due to an overheated hydro vault fire after heavy rain. Commuters were sent scrambling.

A violent brawl broke out between two passengers before ab ANA flight took off from Tokyo to Los Angeles. A video of the incident has gone viral.

Personally, I saw to cars screech to a stop on a dangerous curve in downtown Toronto in a road rage incident between to drivers. Nothing more serious happened than punching each other’s windows.

Mercury is not the cause of these incidents. He’s translating the celestial storm which is very turbulent.

Take it all in your stride and maintain a sanguine demeanour, good fortune will knock on your door. Days like this can be very lucky. Someone’s fumbled ball could land in your lap.

Think of him as a train leaving the station. The engine car is pulling the weight of a fully loaded train. It’ll take a little while i.e. until May 20, before that train gets up to speed.

If Mercury is positioned in an auspicious area of your Personal Horoscope Chart, based on your Date, Time and Place of Birth, you’ll be enjoying a smooth ride. If, however, he’s butting up against some hard angles in your Personal Chart, you’ll be dealing with some challenges.
